25 Decadent Christmas & New Year’s Recipes & Ideas
With Christmas around the corner and New Year’s Eve two weeks away, now is the time for us to start preparing for our celebrations! I’ve compiled a list of 25 recipes and ideas that will help you navigate your planning quicker and easier. From veggie bean burgers for appetizers to a decadent New York style steak, all these recipes will keep your guests happy and make your celebrations memorable! There are also a couple of Christmas morning recipes that your family will love!
Appetizers: To keep things light prior to the main meal, it is a good idea to serve 3-4 appetizer recipes that compliment one another and can also be consumed by itself. It’s also a good practice to always have vegetarian options that meat lovers like as well.
Main Meal: I’ve always found that for the main course dinner, a hearty, decadent and full-filling recipe will keep your family and guests happy for the long night ahead! Though I prefer to serve a beef course with a side, you can always serve seafood, poultry or a pasta dish.
Desserts: You can never go wrong with serving 2-3 dessert options for all the sweet lovers in your family or group of friends. Chocolate is always a must during the holidays as well as Cinnamon Rolls on Christmas morning!
Drinks: When it comes to drink options for your holiday celebrations, you can’t go wrong with literally anything lol. I like to switch it up and different options for all my guests so I usually serve an Agua Fresca, Classic Seasonal Cocktail, Hot Cocoa for the kids (spiked for the adults) and of course Champagne. You must always serve champagne!
Tips & Ideas: Here are some quick tips that will be helpful these holidays – trust me 🙂
Add candles to your Christmas dinner table styling to add that intimate and warm family feeling. For more tables styling ideas for the holidays make sure to check out my blog on tablescaping.
Make sure to have a full stacked bar to make it easier for your guests to serve themselves and make it more convenient for everyone.
Garnish your wine/cocktail glasses with fruits (grapes, berries) to add an extra flair. For NYE, make sure you have your wine grapes/regular grapes handy for the countdown.
Lastly, if you need to chill your champagne bottles super-fast, add salt to the ice water bucket. Dissolving salt in water lowers the liquids freezing point, freezing your bottles in no time!
