How to build the Ultimate Mediterranean Meze Board

A table with different types of food on it.

Meze, a selection of small dishes served as appetizers have been a way of eating in much of West Asia, the Balkans and North Africa for generations. Simple and easy to put together, Meze boards designed for long visits, lots of laughter with friends and loved ones. Below I will break down the key foods you need to build the ultimate Mediterranean Meze board.

A great Meze board should have at least 2 types of dips, finger foods, fruits and vegetables and pita bread. As tradition states, Meze is served with brandy, wine or beer. Below is the list of foods I used to create my one and only The Mad Table Mediterranean Meze Board:

Dips: Hummus + Tzatziki

Meats: Grilled chicken or shrimp skewers

Salads: Warm Potato Salad, Cantaloupe + Prosciutto Salad , Farro Tabouleh

Others: Green Olives, Marinated Artichokes, Pita Bread

Building Meze Board:

Pick a large flat board

Place your dips, salads and other foods in small bowls and arrange them on the board.

Add your larger finger foods in the vacant board spots until its full.

Add your pita bread and you are done!

Tip: Line board with parchment paper for easy clean upâ€

Enjoy!
