Thai Beef Larb
Ingredients
- Sauce:
- 2½ tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sriracha
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Stir Fry:
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ jalapeno, seeded and diced
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- Garnish:
- 1 stalk green onion, chopped
- ½ fresh lime, juiced
- ½ cup fresh mint
- ½ cup fresh purple basil or regular basil
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions
- Mix Sauce together in a bowl and set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add onion and sauté 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and jalapeno, cook 20-30 seconds (making sure garlic does not brown).
- Add beef and cook, breaking it up as you go. Continue to cook about 5 minutes without turning, when meat is crispy brown on one side, flip, and continue to cook the other side, about another 5 minutes.,
- Once the beef is brown, add the sauce. Cook for a further 2 minutes, until slightly reduced. Add additional salt and/or sriracha if desired.
- Serve over rice and garnish with fresh herbs, lime, scallions, and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
