Old Fashion Donut Muffin Bites
Ingredients
- Donut Muffins:
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- pinch ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- Cinnamon Sugar-Butter Coating:
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Chocolate Sauce:
- 8 ounces chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Grease 14-15 mini-muffin cups.
- Mix sugar, butter and nutmeg in a large bowl. Stir in the milk, then mix in the baking powder and flour until just combined. Fill the prepared mini muffin cups.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the tops are lightly golden, 11-12 minutes.
- Chocolate Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, heat cream and corn syrup 2-3 minutes, do not let it come to a rolling boil.
- Place chocolate in a large glass or metal bowl. Pour warm cream and syrup over chocolate and let set 3-4 minutes. Whisk until smooth.
- Cinnamon Sugar Butter Coating:
- Melt butter in a bowl. In a separate now, combine 1/2 cup of sugar with the cinnamon.
- Remove muffins from their cups, dip each muffin in the melted butter, and roll in the sugar-cinnamon mixture and/or dip in chocolate. Add sprinkles if you wish. Enjoy!
