Thanksgiving Decorating Ideas

It’s Thanksgiving month at The Mad Table and throughout the month of November, I will be sharing thanksgiving recipes and decorating ideas to help you plan for your family dinner. Since I love to cook and decorate, sharing these recipes and ideas make the holidays a special occasion for me. Hope you enjoy these ideas as much as I did putting them together.

Thanksgiving Table Setting – Fresh flowers or greenery is always a good idea when decorating your Thanksgiving table. Some of my fall favorites are: eucalyptus, lavender, succulents, fresh herbs and olive branches.

I have a weak spot for all things beautiful and an ongoing love affair with charming tableware. The goal is to find a magical interplay amongst the decorations and pieces on your table.

Plate presentation is a must when tablescaping for Thanksgiving. Adding a succulent to your plates, romanticizes the table. Also, adding a vanilla stick to your napkins enhances the earthy rustic thanksgiving fall look.

If you’re on a budget (and we certainly understand that!), fake mini pumpkins decor from amazon come in handy. Add a few vases with flowers from your garden and your table will look more classy than tacky.

Personal touches like garnishing your drinks with rosemary leaves also adds extra flair to the table setting.

At The Mad Table, we always prefer to tie our napkins with jute, twine or ribbon, to add that rustic but classy look to the table. Also, if your gathering is an all day affair, you can add some fresh fruit or small crudite board to the table to snack on.

Where to shop for table setting pieces?

West Elm, Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Target, antique shops, consignment stores. Anywhere and everywhere!  You’ll be surprised by the treats you find when you’re out and about and open your mind to the possibilities.
