Sweet Potato Fries with Chipotle Crema

  • Sweet Potato Fries:
  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground chipotle chili pepper
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chipotle crema, plus more to taste
  • 2 ounces crumbled feta
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano flakes
  • Chipotle Crema:
  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • ½ lime, juiced
  • 1 clove garlic
  • salt to taste
  • Optional Toppings:
  • bacon crumbles
  • guacamole
  • jalapeno slices


  • Sweet Potato Fries:
  • Preheat an oven to 425°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Rinse and dry the sweet potatoes. Peel and cut potatoes lengthwise into matchsticks about ¼ inch wide and 3 inches long.
  • In a large bowl, toss the sweet potatoes with oil, chipotle, garlic powder, and salt + pepper. Spread the potatoes in a single layer (careful not to overcrowd the pan or they will steam and not crisp) on a baking sheet. Roast until tender and golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Transfer sweet potato fries to a serving platter and top with chipotle crema, feta, oregano additional toppings of choice. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
  • Chipotle Crema:
  • In a food processor, add the mayo, sour cream, chipotle peppers, lime juice, garlic and a pinch of salt. Process until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. Set aside or refrigerate until ready to use.
