Sausage Dogs on the Grill

  • 6 sausages, thick cut
  • 6 hot dog buns, toasted or steamed
  • Toppings:
  • avocado, sliced
  • cheddar cheese, grated
  • corn
  • corn chips
  • cotija cheese
  • ketchup
  • mango salsa
  • mustard
  • onion, diced
  • shoestring potatoes
  • spicy mayo


  • Preheat an outdoor grill on medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Using a toothpick, poke 3-4 holes on each sausage to prevent them from exploding on the grill. Add sausage directly to the grate and grill for 4 minutes. Flip sausage over, and grill an additional 4 minutes more.
  • Top with toppings of choice. Enjoy!
