Apple + Brie Tart
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 frozen puff pastry sheet, thawed
- 1 (8 ounce) brie wheel, sliced
- 1-2 apples thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon flaky salt, divided
- ¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 4 tablespoons butter, thinly sliced and cut in half
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon water, for egg wash
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons fresh chopped thyme
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400º F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, granulated sugar and cinnamon; mix well. Set aside until ready to use.
- Roll out puff pastry sheet. Place brie slices on puff pastry. Arrange apple slices over the cheese. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the apples. Season with ½ teaspoon salt and black pepper and place butter on top. Score the edges to create a border. Brush the edges with the egg wash. Transfer to the oven and bake 15-20 minutes, until the pastry is golden and the cheese melted.
- In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add honey, thyme, and remaining ½ teaspoon salt. Simmer 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Drizzle thyme honey over the tart. Enjoy!
