Garlic Butter Steak Bites

Servings 4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • pound sirloin steak, cut into bite size pieces
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ fresh lemon, zested (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, (optional)
  • ¼ cup fresh arugula or parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Allow the steak to come to room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking. Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces and season them with salt and pepper. Set aside until ready to cook.
  • Heat the pan (preferably a cast iron) for 1 to 2 minutes before adding the oil. Add the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter, ensure the olive oil is hot and the butter is melted. Add the steak and cook for at least 2 minutes before stirring the steak pieces to get a good sear on them. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  • Transfer the steak bites to a plate and in the same skillet add the butter. Turn the heat down to medium and after the butter has melted, add the garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 30 seconds while stirring, or until the garlic becomes aromatic and starts to brown.
  • Pour the garlic butter over the steak bites and toss well. Garnish with parsley and serve. Enjoy!
