Cuban Mojito

  • Mojito:
  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice (reserve lime for muddling)
  • 1 ounce simple syrup (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 ounces white rum
  • ice
  • 2 ounces sparkling water
  • 1-2 lime wedges or slices, for garnish
  • 1 sprig fresh mint, for garnish
  • Simple Syrup:
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar


  • Mojito:
  • Using a cocktail shaker, muddle mint leaves and squeezed lime. Add the lime juice, simple syrup and rum. Add a few ice cubes; shake well. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top with sparkling water. Garnish with a lime few lime wedges or slices, and fresh mint. Enjoy!
  • Simple Syrup:
  • Combine all sugar and water in a small saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let stand at room temperature, covered, for 1 hour.
