Lay the trimmed asparagus on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle the barbacoa seasoning mix and place into the oven. Roast for 9 minutes, or until fork tender.
Once the asparagus is out of the oven, transfer the asparagus to a serving platter and sprinkle with the lemon or orange zest, and parmesan. Garnish with fresh thyme, if desired. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
