Thai Beef Larb

Servings 4 Servings

Ingredients
  

  • Sauce:
  • tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Stir Fry:
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ jalapeno, seeded and diced
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • Garnish:
  • 1 stalk green onion, chopped
  • ½ fresh lime, juiced
  • ½ cup fresh mint
  • ½ cup fresh purple basil or regular basil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Mix Sauce together in a bowl and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add onion and sauté 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and jalapeno, cook 20-30 seconds (making sure garlic does not brown).
  • Add beef and cook, breaking it up as you go. Continue to cook about 5 minutes without turning, when meat is crispy brown on one side, flip, and continue to cook the other side, about another 5 minutes.,
  • Once the beef is brown, add the sauce. Cook for a further 2 minutes, until slightly reduced. Add additional salt and/or sriracha if desired.
  • Serve over rice and garnish with fresh herbs, lime, scallions, and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
